This teenage woman traveled to 41 countries alone in an ultra-light aircraft called Shark Aero, and became the first record for a Belgian flight around the world.
“I made it,” the British-Belgium native told reporters upon her arrival at Kortrijk-Wevelgem Airport, as she came to an end on her 52,000-kilometer journey in 52 countries. The route Rutherford traveled alone was a journey longer than 46,000 kilometers around the earth.
